On the morning of 28 July 2026, the First Cutting Ceremony for the Khanh My & Dam Doi Fields Development Project (Block 46/13) was successfully held at the PTSC Energy Industrial Center and Supply Base in Ho Chi Minh City. The ceremony officially marked the commencement of the fabrication phase for the project. Following the ceremonial button activation, the first steel cutting was carried out at Workshop No. 3 of PTSC Supply Base – Petroleum Port & Renewable Energy Services Branch, signifying a major milestone in the execution of the project.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Huynh Chi Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee, and Mr. Nguyen Chi Thien, Director of the Ca Mau Department of Industry and Trade. Representatives from Petrovietnam and project stakeholders included Mr. Luyen Cong Chien, Chairman of the Block 46/13 Management Committee; Mr. Dinh Manh Quan, Member of the Block 46/13 Management Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thien Bao, President & CEO of PVEP; Mr. Phung Van Hai, Director of PVEP Khanh My; Mr. Dang Duc Phong, Deputy General Director for Construction of Vietsovpetro, along with representatives from PTSC Corporation, PTSC M&C, PTSC Supply Base, and project management and engineering teams.

PTSC Supply Base Awarded the Fabrication of Two Topsides for the Khanh My & Dam Doi Development Project

The Khanh My and Dam Doi gas fields are small, marginal offshore gas fields located approximately 205 km southwest of Ca Mau Cape in a water depth of approximately 53 metres. The project presents significant geological and technical challenges while requiring strict cost optimization and compliance with the highest offshore engineering standards. As part of the project execution, PTSC Supply Base has been entrusted as the fabrication subcontractor responsible for the complete fabrication of the topsides for both the Khanh My Wellhead Platform (KM-WHP) and the Dam Doi Wellhead Platform (DD-WHP).

  • Fabrication scope: Nearly 1,900 tonnes of complex structural and process steel.
  • Execution location: All onshore fabrication, assembly, and load-out activities will be carried out at PTSC Supply Base’s fabrication yard.
  • Project schedule: Approximately 12 months, from July 2026 to June 2027.
The selection of PTSC Supply Base’s fabrication yard as the venue for the project’s First Cutting Ceremony once again demonstrates the company’s strong capabilities, including its dedicated fabrication yard infrastructure, modern workshops – such as Workshop No. 3 – and internationally recognized expertise in offshore fabrication and project execution.

Committed to Delivering the Project Safely, with Quality and On Schedule

The Block 46/13 Development Project, utilizing existing infrastructure connected to the PM3 CAA facilities, is the first offshore development involving infrastructure integration within the overlapping maritime area between Vietnam and Malaysia. With a total development investment of nearly USD 350 million, the project plays a strategic role in maximizing domestic hydrocarbon resources, increasing national gas production, and strengthening energy security for Vietnam’s southwestern region.Recognizing the strategic importance of the project, Mr. Dang Duc Phong, Deputy General Director for Construction of Vietsovpetro, reaffirmed during the ceremony that the EPC contractor would work closely with PTSC M&C and PTSC Supply Base while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and project execution to ensure successful and timely completion.

As the fabrication subcontractor, PTSC Supply Base is fully committed to mobilizing its best resources, including experienced QA/QC engineers, fabrication specialists, certified high-pressure welders, and advanced equipment to execute the project efficiently. Every fabrication activity – from cutting and welding to assembly and load-out—will be carried out under rigorous quality control procedures to ensure the safe delivery of both topsides, contributing to the successful achievement of first gas and supporting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s offshore energy industry.
